Fractal Legacy: First Draft, Part Two Complete

ree

That's a good way to end the week. The first draft of part two of Fractal Legacy, now called Exploration, is now complete. It didn't always go exactly where I expected, but it set up the finale better than I could have hoped. The two threads of part one are now definitively weaved together. Battle lines have been drawn.

I ended up with the same number of chapters as was expected, but the action shuffled about a bit. Some of the character dynamics went in interesting directions, so it made sense to reallocate a couple of critical scenes. Overall, much better than my original plans.

Part two ended up around 25,500 words long, giving a grand total of just over 84,000 words so far. Just one part to go, now called Execution. I've made an initial chapter plan for this:

That may be one chapter more than is needed, but it's a good place to start. This lets the trilogy go out with a bang, likely somewhere between 120,000 and 125,000 words overall. There's a bit of work to do in the second draft before I send it out for review, but nothing too significant. This one's felt coherent all the way through.

Right. I've already shampooed the carpets, so no excuses not to crack on. Full steam ahead!
