Fractal Legacy Final Draft Complete!

ree

I'm delighted to announce that the final draft of Fractal Legacy is now complete. As hoped, the changes were relatively minor, focusing primarily on the new sections I added in the last draft. They were all simple wording changes or improvements in transitions.

That's the benefit of taking a break and reading something else in between. My mind stopped filling in the gaps between what I needed to write and what I actually wrote. There was even one typo. Tsk.

The length of the novel is now 134,000 words. Phew. That's my longest novel by a long way, but I'm now comfortable that this is the length the story needed to be. It was necessary to bring the story and characters to a satisfying conclusion, given everything that happened across the first two books. Each novel in the trilogy is longer than the last. That feels fitting.

It's left me with a complex set of emotions. I'm immensely proud of what I've achieved across this trilogy, relieved to have finished it, and there's also a lingering sense of regret as I say farewell to the characters that have been part of my life since April 2023. It's been quite a ride.

Everything is ready to publish. All three books are now uploaded to both Amazon and Draft2Digital; all I have to do is press the button. The only thing I'm waiting for is to receive the draft copy of the Fractal Legacy paperback proof to check, which should arrive by the end of next week. I've already checked the first two.

As usual, I'll publish exclusively on Amazon for three months and more widely afterwards. I'll provide a brief update when everything goes live.

My thoughts will now turn to my next novel, The Pantheon Triptych. Once I'm ready to commit the first words to the page, I'll give more details on how it looks. It's exciting to be starting on something brand new again. It's been a while.
